Homemade Hummus

Creamy chickpea dip perfect with vegetables or pita bread. This homemade hummus is smooth, flavorful, and much better than store-bought versions.

Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for serving
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2-3 tablespoons water
- Salt to taste
- Paprika and chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, garlic, olive oil, and cumin.
- Process until smooth, about 1 minute.
- With the processor running, add water one tablespoon at a time until the hummus reaches your desired consistency.
- Season with salt to taste and process again to combine.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika and chopped parsley.
- Serve with pita bread, pita chips, or fresh vegetables.
